Q:Can I lighten my wood?
A:No. Dark wood will always retain its natural colour. You can however make light wood darker.

Q:Can my engineered board be resurfaced?
A:Yes. The thin veneer can be resanded.

Q:Will my wooden floor change colour with age?
A:



Under the intensity of natural sunlight, dark wood can lighten over the years. Similarly light wood can darken. In general: Oak, European red oak, ash, beech, hard maple, birch, iroko: Yellows. Alder, European maple: yellows considerably Merbau: Reddens/darkens. Cherry, Jacoba, Rosewood: Darkens/reddens considerably. Jarrah: Darkens considerably. Sucupira: No change.

Q:Can I have laminate in my bathroom?
A:This is not normally recommended.

Q:How long will the seal take to dry on my refurbished wooden floor?
A:

Generally within three to four hours one can walk on the floor (not in shoes), depending on site conditions and humidity.

Q:Is it possible to repair wooden floors?
A:

Yes, we always endeavour to repair floors where possible. However, if this involves replacement of timber, board or blocks, it is likely that shades will vary.

Q:Why does the colour of my wooden floor vary from the sample?
A:


The sample you were shown may vary from the product supplied as it will have been exposed to more light than the product when it arrived. However, this should change as your new floor is exposed to more light. Note: Wood is a natural product and can vary considerably from batch to batch.

Q:How long can I expect the seal to last on my wooden floor?
A:


Generally, wooden floors need to be resanded after 7 to 10 years. Depending on wear and tear, your floor may begin to look a bit "tired" as it ages. However it can be brought back to its original appearance by skimming off the top layer, sanding and resealing the surface to give you effectively a "new" surface.

Q:Can you refurbish the wooden floor I found under my carpet?
A:

Yes, we frequently do this. Many people find they have a wooden floor beneath their carpet. The wood can vary in type and condition but can usually be resurfaced to give a high quality finish.
